WEEK TWO - MINGLE

Has it really been only a week since you found yourself in this place? But just like that, the days have come and gone, and five of your number have been lost. The space seems a little larger, less claustrophobic. By mid-afternoon on Sunday, after the execution, guests will also realise that the hotel is once again pristine thanks to the work of the ever-present faceless and nameless staff members, and the elevators are all in working order again.

Something is peculiar about your rooms, though -- something you may notice after you come back from the execution. Your desks now have a different Polaroid camera on them. This time, each resident gets one with a total of 10 film each. Film for these cameras in particular can be refilled in the gift shop. For Kurama in particular, the camera is larger and built so that he's able to (somewhat) see through the lenses and hit a button with his nose to take the photo. What differentiates these cameras from the ones you received last week is for you to find out.

At precisely 8AM on Monday morning, the fog recedes slightly, allowing just the slightest hint of sunlight to peek through. There is a gentle sea breeze, comfortable weather in every feasible way.

Rise and shine, everyone, it's time to make the day yours, just like the rest of the week. Better enjoy it while it lasts.

[ She turns to look at Yuki like it's normal when he speaks again, slowly walking over to the bed and seemingly pushing something into the bed with a neutral expression, but it's nothing. Feeling the bed with her hand makes her snap out of it. ]

... It was just a hallucination. Come in. Do you need any help with those? You can dump them on the bed so that we can place them neatly on the floor.

[ He dumps the mugs on the bed. Inside his little pile, there's different snacks and a couple of bottles of juice. ]

Are you sure you're okay?

[ Is it ever "just" a hallucination? ]

Could be better, but I'm fine. It's just... the hallucinations have been more annoying than traumatizing at this rate.

[ Seeing and hearing fucked up stuff from her family? Sure is annoying, because Iria has an unwavering belief that it's wrong. ]

I'm glad they're more annoying than anything.

[ He's really glad. He doesn't know what he would do if Iria was suffering as terribly as some of the others, himself included. Thankfully, having someone else with him keeps them mostly at bay. ​]

...By the way, did I say something that upset you earlier?

[ It hasn't been too long since they split from the garden, and Yuki can find the flower crown on top of the desk. Her hair is still braided to the side like it was before.

Iria tries to think about it. ]

Hm... I don't think so? Why do you ask?

Your mood changed a little when I said that it's harder for you to react to things when you're used to it.

Well, no. You're right. Seeing the hallucinations lately made it harder for me to react to them as time passed. It's a stark comparison when I was broken over my siblings' deaths before--probably because I knew those were real, and these aren't.

It doesn't help or worsen it, so it's alright.

[ While moving one of the mugs to the floor, she picks up and holds one. ]

... Should we place one outside the door?

[ Like it's some sort of charm that wards away murder. ]

[ It might give them a clue as to what goes on overnight. And if nothing happens? Well, there's no harm in putting it out. ]

Yes, please. Particularly in a place in the way of us leaving, if you can.

[ She'll regret this later, but it's fine. ]

[ Don't mind him, just taking the mug and placing it right outside the door where Iria will definitely trip on it in the morning. ]

[ She gives him a small smile before sitting against the bed. She doesn't feel like sitting on her bed right now, so the floor with the bed as her backrest will have to do. ]

This has been a rough week... do you, by any chance, feel better than when I last saw you?

[ He joins her, straightening out his legs as he sits down and rests his back against the bed. ]

I do. I have to keep telling myself that it's not real... that Honda-san wouldn't say those things to me.

[ But it's hard, especially when he heard those things over and over again as a kid. ]

From what you tell me of her, I don't think she'll have the heart to say nasty things to you at all. In fact, I feel like she'd cry if she had to say anything like that.

... I hope you won't get offended, but you just seemed like... the average person--someone who knew some things, but not everything. I suppose I'm just tired of everyone else knowing everything and feeling left out.
