WEEK TWO - MINGLE

Has it really been only a week since you found yourself in this place? But just like that, the days have come and gone, and five of your number have been lost. The space seems a little larger, less claustrophobic. By mid-afternoon on Sunday, after the execution, guests will also realise that the hotel is once again pristine thanks to the work of the ever-present faceless and nameless staff members, and the elevators are all in working order again.

Something is peculiar about your rooms, though -- something you may notice after you come back from the execution. Your desks now have a different Polaroid camera on them. This time, each resident gets one with a total of 10 film each. Film for these cameras in particular can be refilled in the gift shop. For Kurama in particular, the camera is larger and built so that he's able to (somewhat) see through the lenses and hit a button with his nose to take the photo. What differentiates these cameras from the ones you received last week is for you to find out.

At precisely 8AM on Monday morning, the fog recedes slightly, allowing just the slightest hint of sunlight to peek through. There is a gentle sea breeze, comfortable weather in every feasible way.

Rise and shine, everyone, it's time to make the day yours, just like the rest of the week. Better enjoy it while it lasts.

Well, no. You're right. Seeing the hallucinations lately made it harder for me to react to them as time passed. It's a stark comparison when I was broken over my siblings' deaths before--probably because I knew those were real, and these aren't.

It doesn't help or worsen it, so it's alright.

[ While moving one of the mugs to the floor, she picks up and holds one. ]

... Should we place one outside the door?

[ Like it's some sort of charm that wards away murder. ]

[ It might give them a clue as to what goes on overnight. And if nothing happens? Well, there's no harm in putting it out. ]

[ She'll regret this later, but it's fine. ]

[ Don't mind him, just taking the mug and placing it right outside the door where Iria will definitely trip on it in the morning. ]

[ She gives him a small smile before sitting against the bed. She doesn't feel like sitting on her bed right now, so the floor with the bed as her backrest will have to do. ]

This has been a rough week... do you, by any chance, feel better than when I last saw you?

[ He joins her, straightening out his legs as he sits down and rests his back against the bed. ]

I do. I have to keep telling myself that it's not real... that Honda-san wouldn't say those things to me.

[ But it's hard, especially when he heard those things over and over again as a kid. ]

From what you tell me of her, I don't think she'll have the heart to say nasty things to you at all. In fact, I feel like she'd cry if she had to say anything like that.

Yeah, she would cry. I don't think she could ever think a mean thing about someone else. She's too airheaded for that.

[ But he gets it? Kind of. Tohru is refreshing, but Yuki would absolutely not apply that word to himself. ]

[ Iria takes a moment to think about it and then her expression lights with realization. ]

I think I understand how I could trust you easily. It's because, well...

... I hope you won't get offended, but you just seemed like... the average person--someone who knew some things, but not everything. I suppose I'm just tired of everyone else knowing everything and feeling left out.

[ No one has ever called him average before. That's new. ]

I guess I am, when you leave out my family. There's a lot of good in that, so I'm not offended.

[ When your family is full of pretty people, you get used to beauty real fast. ]

Does it help you feel like you belong?

[ You sure do. Yuki got used to it too, thanks to his family. ]

[ He smiles a little. ]

Being average is all I've ever wanted. I was jealous of Kyo for so long because he got to live an average life.

Oh? I thought you just didn't like him because you didn't like his guts.

[ Though she can see why Yuki would be jealous. ]

No. Well... I can't stand him. He's rude, stupid, and inconsiderate. He doesn't think of Honda-san's feelings.

[ He frowns, clearly annoyed with that. ]

But... he has always enjoyed a level of freedom outside of the family because the cat is never allowed into the circle. His life hasn't been easy, but he thinks mine has.

[ ... ]

That pisses me off.

Ah, right...

[ She nods. ]

... I think if I had that happen to me, I'd tear him a new one.

"I won't forgive you. You should just disappear from this world."

[ He looks up at the ceiling. ]

Those were the first words Kyo said to me. I was actually excited to meet him. At that point, I hadn't even spoken to another zodiac member, not even my brother.
