FINALE
THE FINALE

SURVIVORS: 22 ♫
The Manager has been sealed away. All of you are really, truly here, and the hell you've endured for the past three weeks is finally over. No more trials, no more motives. No more death.
The sky is clear, now, sunny as ever. While that may still seem suspicious, the ocean is calm and there are birds (including seagulls) in the sky. The resort is intact, but everything seems to have finally settled down. The dreadful feeling is no more -- unless you're feeling it on your own volition -- and the only thing that seems to stand between you and freedom is the boat you once arrived here on. It is docked, waiting to be ridden once more. It's not leaving for a while yet, but when you board the ship, each of you will be presented with a blank ticket, one that will reflect your final destination, whether it be your own home or someone else's. The choice is yours.
Now would be a good time to say your farewells. Whether or not you'll meet again is unknown, but perhaps someday, your paths will collide once more.
The shard, wherever it now lies, still pulses faintly with energy.

It's bittersweet, really. Gentaro can't say he would do this again, but there is something to be said about the unlikely bonds he's forged here. Still, Gentaro is very anxious to get back to Shibuya.
... Three weeks he's been gone. Part of him is afraid that he'll go back to something truly terrible, but... he has time to say his farewells to those who have accompanied him on this journey. ]
... Quite an experience, wasn't it?

[ Tsumugi reaches into her pocket and pulls out a small piece of cardstock paper. She hands it over to him with both hands and bows a little. ]
Please accept this. It's my business card, in case you're ever around and would like to get in contact with me again.

[ She glances over, giving him a lazy smirk. ]
It certainly was. Not a bad way to pass the time, hm?
[ Yes, there's a touch of sarcasm there. ]

[ hellooo gentarooo Iria looks calm as ever now that things aren't being blowing up. ]
Where are... your goose posse?
[ That sentence particularly sounds Very British. ]

No one in Mondstadt will believe me.

He stands out on the beach, looking at the ocean. He turns to anyone nearby with a smile. ]
We made it.

[ Hello, Yuki. He's got a smile for you. ]
You were all incredible.

[ She's happy, too. She moves to step up, next to Yuki, and she puts a hand on his shoulder. This time, her touch is there. It's real. ]
Thank you, Yuki-san...for all of your help. It truly has been a pleasure to have gotten to know you.

Is this... by any chance, your hometown?
[ It's some Japanese city that Iria doesn't know of. ]

[He meets that smile with one of his own, and for once? It's a real one.]
I'll be honest, I didn't expect both of us to make it out of this alive. But I'm glad we did.

[ Hi again, Penny. ]
Bittersweet, isn't it?

[Reigen pauses from his enthusiasm when he notices the sadness in the robot girl's smile. It's hard not to feel the same sort of melancholy from that.]
...oh. Yeah, I...guess we are. Can't exactly contact each other from another dimension.
no subject
Of course, that feeling doesn't last too long. If he notices them first, his smile is back as and genuine easy as ever. Whether he actually told them or not-- ]
See? I told you it would be okay. Everything works itself out in the end.

All twelve geese turn their heads in unison to look at him. ]
A-ah... Yes, you probably did.

Now, was I seeing things, or did you fling yourself at that barrier? I was a little preoccupied, you know.

But he'll give a pleasant smile to anyone who looks his way. ]
Well, this was certainly something.
no subject
It was, wasn't? A good way to pass the time, at least.
[ She kind of. squints at the geese. ]
Mind explaining the geese to me? I must've missed that part.
[ Like, they're clearly hypnotized but. Why are they even here in the first place. ]

Her ticket is at her side, closely guarded. Part of her is in a rush to get back home, but she's at the mercy of the boat right now, so she supposes she doesn't mind waiting just a little bit longer.]
no subject
Bet they'll be real happy to see you again. Think you'll hang your new photo up when you get back?

[ Remember the goose that stole your salt bag? It's back. Probably hid among the Master's goose cult. It honks and stares at Iria from next to her feet.
...
She feeds it a piece of lettuce. ]

I really am grateful for the support back there. I'm not sure I'd have been able to handle that on my own. [ She grins, pushing some hair back as she slides into a hover-sit for the first time in what feels like ages, settling the sword she had grabbed from the Manager and laying it across her lap. ]
So, what's next for you, then? Back home?
no subject
I suppose it might be something like home. I just wanted to say... What you did back there was really cool, Miss Hild.

for another: he still has the shard in his pocket, ever pulsing. he suppose it's just another thing he has to look after as the magician of the black tower. he may take two hundred year naps in between watching over the obelian empire, but he takes his job seriously when he's awake. this shard is never going to fall into the wrong hands ever again.
anyway, he doesn't really want to reflect on how he's vaguely a better person than he was three weeks ago because that's dumb. so he's going to walk along the beach a little, maybe talk to a couple of people (maybe not), and then get on the ship and go home to an ugly girl who needs him.
people might not recognize him at first because he looks taller and older - a full grown man, his hair as long as it was on arrival. he's even wearing some fancy wizard outfit. it looks dashing on him, like everything else. as soon as he opens his mouth, however, they'll find he only aged physically and not mentally. miracles don't happen that easily. ]
