WEEK THREE -- INVESTIGATION

8:00AM on a Friday morning, and it's not a pleasant awakening. In fact, you may actually be jerked awake by the sense of dread that permeates through you, even if the violent impulses that have plagued you through the week seem to be... not quite gone? They're... still here?

But you will feel lighter at 8:05AM, which never bodes well for you.

Someone has decided to act on the motive.

Residents on Floors 5 and 6 may realise that until 8:15AM, the elevators do not work, and that in front of most of the doors to their rooms, chairs (taken from the cafe, lobby, assortment of other places) have been placed in front of their doors - not enough to completely trap them in their rooms, but definitely enough to cause some difficulty in getting out.

Time is ticking.

[ hmmm. ok, he'll take the broom and have another visual sweep of the elevator for anything else noticeable before moving to the youngest problem child-vator. ]

[ The youngest problem child-vator has the exact same problem as the eldest child-vator.

Right down to the broom hanging around in the corner (this time, it's kind of toppled over and is lying on the floor) and the jammed "Door Open" button. ]

[ hmmmm. he'll check the tip of the new broom and the button to see if the same scratches are there.

then he'll do a test! if he lines the broom against the closest corner away from the button panel (probably the same corner it was found), will the tip of the broom reach the button? and if so, could he jam the button again in this manner?

this is not his favorite elevator, so he doesn't mind breaking it. if it gets jammed again, he'll just kick it fixed. ]

[ The same scratches exist on both!

Also... yes. The broom lines up pretty nicely such that the tip is pressing against the "Door Open" button.

(Are you sure you want to jam up the button, Lucas, the elevator does not deserve such abuse!!) ]

[ well, if the test succeeds without jamming, then he will... reluctantly leave the poor elevator alone. once again, another sweep of the room, another claiming of a broom, and he'll... hmmmmm. he needs to find the last broom, probably, and he knows elevator two, the favored child was stuck on the roof for a bit, so that sounds like a place to check out...

BUT BEFORE THAT, he's going to press the button for floor 4 because what the heck, that shit earlier was weird. ]
