WEEK THREE -- INVESTIGATION

8:00AM on a Friday morning, and it's not a pleasant awakening. In fact, you may actually be jerked awake by the sense of dread that permeates through you, even if the violent impulses that have plagued you through the week seem to be... not quite gone? They're... still here?

But you will feel lighter at 8:05AM, which never bodes well for you.

Someone has decided to act on the motive.

Residents on Floors 5 and 6 may realise that until 8:15AM, the elevators do not work, and that in front of most of the doors to their rooms, chairs (taken from the cafe, lobby, assortment of other places) have been placed in front of their doors - not enough to completely trap them in their rooms, but definitely enough to cause some difficulty in getting out.

Time is ticking.

[Okay Alcina has had her coffee so she’s here to…touch a body, apparently. Someone’s gotta do it, and Remilia deserves some decency with whom is examining her.

…

Mind, she’s not getting on the ground to do this. Can she like…move Remilia’s body to a table or something once Hild has gotten down the details of the crime scene.]

[ She could... feasibly use the Health Room or the Spa to look at the body, yes. I was going to make a basement joke here but probably not.

Be careful when moving Remilia's body, though. It's very badly burnt, or at least, her clothes are fairly badly burnt. ]

[We are not going to the basement!!!

She does indeed handle the body with care. Given their size difference, she has no trouble moving Remilia. She gently scoops her up and moves her over to the health room for a proper examination.

Is there anything else immediately off when handling the body?]

CW for uh? light gore? maybe?

[ Right before Alcina picks Remilia up, the immediately obvious thing is that her limbs are kind of bent awkwardly and there's definitely some bone breakage happening since there might be some bones poking out of Remilia's skin.

The second most noticeable thing which comes when Remilia is picked up is that this body is not cold. ]

[While the sight of the body doesn’t disturb Alcina, it still being warm is certainly a surprise. Had the elevators not acted up, would they have found Remilia still alive in that doorway? Well, there likely would have been no saving her in this state anyway.

She’ll do her best to not damage the body further as she carefully sets Remilia down on a table in the health room.

She’ll go ahead and start with those broken bones. Is it possible to tell what might have caused these injuries?]

[ The warmth is probably a mix of a relatively recent death and the fact that some of Remilia's exposed skin, like around her neck and her hands, looks... pretty bad. Like red, blistering, feeling slightly thicker under Alcina's touch kind of bad.

The broken bones look like they have almost been shattered, actually, considering that some of the pieces sticking out of her skin look to be fragments rather than whole pieces of bone. Or at least, caused by something that would have made a very large impact. ]

[Yeah the burns sure would do it too, huh? Those in combination with the shattered bones is a very big “yikes”.

How much of her body is burned, anyway? And is it just her limbs dealing with bone breakage or can Alcina find other similar injuries elsewhere?]

[ Alcina might have to peel off Remilia's burnt clothes first, but it does seem like there are similar injuries over most of her body, so it's not just her limbs that are suffering from the impact damage.

Strangely, Remilia's body doesn't seem that badly burnt aside from the exposed parts that were mentioned earlier. It seems like her clothes got the brunt of the flames, considering that it's... kind of in fabric scraps. There might also be some scraps of charred paper clinging to the fabric of her clothes.

The burn damage from anything that was covered by clothes seem more consistent with first degree burning - reddish skin, but no blisters. ]

[Alcina doesn’t have any problem maneuvering around clothes to get to more of those injuries. She works like she’s definitely examined bodies before. Funny that.

After noting the state of the injuries, burns and clothes, she looks into those paper scraps. Is it only on her clothes? And is it discernible at all as to what it could have once been?]

[ While she's working at the fabric scraps, she'll probably notice that some of the fabric scraps still smell like gasoline. Funny, that.

It's also a little hard to see under all the burnt skin, but there is definitely evidence of internal bleeding underneath all that.

Some of the scraps of paper are a little bit too burned to tell but some of the larger scraps imply that the paper was white and there seem to be some red markings on the scraps. ]

[Gasoline, huh… The implications there are unpleasant, to say the least.

Is there anything to those red markings on the paper? Or is the paper too messed up to tell?

Along with the internal bleeding signs, is there anything else off about the body? Anything around Remilia’s head?]

[ Some of the markings look like they were written although it's too burned to tell what exactly.

Thankfully enough, her face seems to have escaped most of the burning? There's a little bit of blistering closest to where her neck is.

Although, if Alcina feels around the back of her head there's definitely a crack that happened to her skull. ]

[Good lord, someone really put this girl through the wringer. Alcina is curious to find out what the others have found to piece together what happened, exactly.

Alright, all of this has been noted. Any last things to find? Sneakily-hidden cuts and the like? She did see a bit of blood at the scene.]

[ No additional sneaky cuts! The blood at the scene should tally up since the crack at the back of her skull is still kind of wet with blood and also whatever injuries that seem consistent with a high impact fall (So there would be blood where the bone broke the skin etc.) although Alcina will probably have to... cut Remilia open to confirm exactly what happened, yikes.

One last thing to be found, because it's kind of hidden in some bunched up fabric - a half burned book of matches, identifiable only by the label which isn't terribly charred. ]

[Thankfully she’s not interested in performing a full-on autopsy here. But yes, that’s definitely a good point with the injuries vs. blood!

As for the matches…well then! She’ll definitely have to pocket those to present at the trial.

Would the staff prefer that she return the body to where it was or can they just collect it here?]
