8:00AM on a Friday morning, and it's not a pleasant awakening. In fact, you may actually be jerked awake by the sense of dread that permeates through you, even if the violent impulses that have plagued you through the week seem to be... not quite gone? They're... still here?

But you will feel lighter at 8:05AM, which never bodes well for you.

Someone has decided to act on the motive.

Residents on Floors 5 and 6 may realise that until 8:15AM, the elevators do not work, and that in front of most of the doors to their rooms, chairs (taken from the cafe, lobby, assortment of other places) have been placed in front of their doors - not enough to completely trap them in their rooms, but definitely enough to cause some difficulty in getting out.

Time is ticking.

[ Immediately after exiting the elevator to the rooftop, Yuki might want to turn around and look behind him before proceeding! ]

[ Since he’s trying to keep his ground fully covered he’ll do just that! What will he see? ]

[ There is a broom. It's kind of leaning awkwardly against the door to Elevator 2, but it sure seems out of place on the rooftop.

Other than that, once Yuki heads towards the edge of the building, he'll probably notice a few things.

1.) Be careful not to step on that balled up piece of paper dangerously close to being under your shoe.
2.) A large gasoline can, dangerously near the edge.
3.) A small item that seems to have been dropped.

Which one would he like to look at first? ]

[ Oh, huh. Wonder why that’s up here… Yuki can’t imagine anyone would want to sweep up here.

And he’ll check out that balled up piece of paper first, only because he almost steps on it. He picks it up, seeing if there’s anything on it if he flattens it out a bit. ]

[ The piece of paper is white, but smudged with dirt, probably, since it's been on the floor.

Flattening the piece of paper will show that there are some bright red markings on the paper, in addition to the dirt smudges. It's not a very big piece of paper, and some of the edges look like they were torn. ]

[ Do those bright red markings look like they were made with a marker or something else? He also looks at the edges to see if the tears look like the page was ripped out of a book or notebook. ]

[ They reasonably could be made with a marker or something similar, yes. They also look like they were handwritten, although some of the characters look smudged up enough that it's not immediately identifiable as who wrote it.

The tears are inconclusive, unfortunately. Because they are plain white paper, it's a little bit hard to tell whether they came from a sheet of paper, a book or a notebook.

Perhaps Yuki would like to check on the other items now? ]

[ He’ll just keep that paper on him for now.

But he will decide to look at some of the other things around, namely that gas can. He takes a look at how close to the edge it is before giving the can itself a closer look. Anything unusual about it? ]

[ It's close enough to the edge but thankfully not quite close enough that it would be in danger of falling off the edge or something like that.

In fact, it seems to actually be placed a little out of the way.

The canister itself is about 5 gallons. More importantly, it seems to be about half full. ]

[ At least it’s not falling off the edge! But the fact that it’s half full sure is concerning. Just to be sure and cover his bases, Yuki looks around to see if there’s evidence of a spill.

If not, and if there’s nothing else off about the can, he’ll go get a closer look at that small item. ]

[ There definitely is a spill, although it is some distance away from the can. In fact, positioning wise, the spill and smell of gasoline is the closest to the edge compared to any of the other items.

The spill also looks... a little bit off. It looks like there were two smaller spills that are bleeding (ha) into each other instead of one large spill.

When Yuki approaches the small item - it's a box of matches, with some stray matches having fallen out of the box. ]

[ Hmmm… he takes a look at the way the spills converge, making a note of where the spill eventually ends.

He picks up the box and the stray matches, giving both a look over before putting the matches back into the box, just to see if any are missing. ]

[ The spill kind of ends with a trail that goes over the edge of the building.

The box is a little bit dented so it might take a couple of moments for Yuki to pop it open, but once he slides the fallen matches back into the box, there are indeed still a few matches missing. ]

[ Over the edge of the building… interesting!

He makes note that there’s a few matches missing and he tries to see if he can tell if the dent looks like it’s from when the box was dropped or if it was crushed slightly.

If he can’t, Yuki will look around for anything else he might have missed on the first go around. ]

[ It does look possibly consistent with the box being dropped.

Nothing much else to see here, unless Yuki would like to look over the edge of the building, because then he'll probably be able to see at least some of the commotion happening below, even if he can't hear anything from this height. ]

[ he rides the favored child up to the rooftop and there it is! the last broom for his collection. will he find the same marks on the tip of this broom?

also weird how it's outside the elevator... was there something here that needed to be swept up?? ]

[ whoops I missed this on flatview but yes, this broom would also have the same slight scratches on the tip! ]
