WEEK THREE -- INVESTIGATION

8:00AM on a Friday morning, and it's not a pleasant awakening. In fact, you may actually be jerked awake by the sense of dread that permeates through you, even if the violent impulses that have plagued you through the week seem to be... not quite gone? They're... still here?

But you will feel lighter at 8:05AM, which never bodes well for you.

Someone has decided to act on the motive.

Residents on Floors 5 and 6 may realise that until 8:15AM, the elevators do not work, and that in front of most of the doors to their rooms, chairs (taken from the cafe, lobby, assortment of other places) have been placed in front of their doors - not enough to completely trap them in their rooms, but definitely enough to cause some difficulty in getting out.

Time is ticking.

[ Since she's out here anyway, let's take a look! Anything left to find in amidst all the charred mess? ]

[ This was established earlier probably when firefighting team was putting out the fire, but the area that was burned is actually quite large. It spans almost all of the non-poisonous area at least, so there's quite a lot of damage to be found here. Burnt plant matter, lightly scorched dirt - the works that come with a fire burning for quite some time before it was put out.

In terms of anything else left to find, strangely enough, not that much.

However, the smell of gasoline still lingers in the air. ]

[ Worrisome. Does there seem to be any particular point where the scent of gasoline is strongest? ]

[ In terms of the burned area, not really. A sharp eye may notice that there's some patches that are more burned than others.

Outside of the burned area, however, closer towards the resort entrance/spa & apothecary side, the smell of gasoline is definitely stronger. ]

[ Worrisome! Is there any gasoline visible in the area, or just the lingering smell? ]

[ There is definitely a large gasoline canister just chilling in the area, which seems to be the source of the smell. ]

[ Welp, just gonna turn that into the staff...

Is there any indication to whether it was deliberately left here? Or it was it in more of 'haphazardly throw aside' sort of position? ]

[ A little bit of both! Mostly because the gasoline canister is quite empty for a 5 gallon canister, but it does look like it was tossed haphazardly on its side and discarded there. ]

[ Noted! Was it tossed out in plain sight, or was it dumped behind something? ]

[ It seems like there was a half-hearted attempt to dump the canister since it's not like Penny had to dig very much to find it, but it's also not completely placed in the open, if that makes sense!

Moving onward - would she like to check the BBQ area? ]

[ She sure would! Humans cook using gasoline, right?

What's the situation look like over here? ]

[ Usually, all the gasoline canisters would be lined up neatly by the grill area, ready to be used.

However, it's not immediately obvious, but counting the number of canisters in each row will soon reveal that two 5-gallon canisters are missing from their rightful places. ]

[ Penny does notice that eventually!

Is there anything to indicate whether or not the cans were taken at the same time? ]

[ There's nothing immediately obvious to point to that, but it is worth noting that it seems like whoever removed these canisters seem to have no problem with them since there are no scuff marks or the like indicating that they were dragged. ]

[ Good to know! Is there anything else that seems to be missing from this area? ]
