Last week might've been the worst week some of you have ever had. From the hallucinations to losing five of your number yet again, things are looking rather bleak -- and yet, perhaps optimistic, given that you're so close to ending the game. Is it worth sacrificing one more person to end it, though? ... Only one way to find out.

You have time until then, though, to regroup and recollect yourself if you choose to. From Monday morning, after the rain that fell on Sunday, the weather, continues to be more overcast and stormy throughout the week - gray clouds swirl around the sky ominously, and the pleasantly balmy weather that you've come to expect gives way to passing showers with ominous thunder. Perhaps it's not a good time to go for a swim in the pool, but no one's stopping you if that's what you decide on doing. Your locations, likewise, have changed.

The end is almost here. There are only slightly over half your number still remaining. Do your best to survive.

[ OOC: Same as last week!

IC-ly, your character may freely use the individual cameras received this week. For OOC purposes, you may submit up to three locations this week where you are taking photos, what the photos are of, and what day these photos were taken. Photos do not have to be taken on the same day and can be taken on different days during the week.

Some photos may turn up with nothing too unusual, but others may come with a special surprise. :) The mod team will respond to you if something happens with your photo.

You may also handwave the photo-taking! ]

This week, instead of flowers, there is a small (covered) dish of kinako mochi and pink-frosted donuts. ]

The bulletin board can be found at the front desk area. Next to the board, there is a stack of post-it notes, thumbtacks and resort-branded ballpoint pens. For Kurama specifically, a large inkpad has been helpfully provided, along with some drawing paper.

To stick a post-it on the bulletin board, leave a comment in this top level. Anonymous messages should be marked with ANON in the subject, and please feel free to comment away and threadjack.

All post-it notes on the bulletin board will be cleared on Fridays.

LOCATION UPDATES:

- Kurama's property damage spree continues to happen. While it is mostly concentrated in Room 606 and the restaurant, guests will find that locations affected by Kurama's property damage will reset back to normal one hour after Kurama has left the area.
- Grafitti on the walls of the front desk and the lobby. They look more faded than they should be, but when touched, will feel like the paint is still wet. The paint will now faintly smell like blood as of Week 3.
- When it is raining, we recommend not touching the walls - they may hold some static shocks.
- This has been painted on all the elevator doors. Like the grafitti on the walls, they will look more faded than fresh, but when touched, will feel like the paint is still wet, with the paint smelling faintly like blood.

[ It comes to you in dreams this Tuesday night, when you are sound asleep, wherever you are. Visions of those who have spent the last two weeks with you - of those that still remain, but more vividly, the ones that are no longer with you.

It feels like a dream when you awaken on Wednesday morning but as always, like the last two weeks, there is an unsigned, typewritten card that has been delivered to your room.

One more death.

The end is nigh. Won't you take that step?

From Wednesday morning onwards, characters will feel their impulses, particularly regarding hurting/retaliating against other guests, start to slip. It is still possible to control these impulses to avoid causing harm or grievous bodily injury, but they will find it more difficult to control as the days progress. This effect will end on Friday morning when investigation commences. ]

sunday: a photo of the sixth room doors, angled so that it specifically catches the door to the president's suite, room 610, 611, and the empty room.

monday: a not-so-subtle, probably unflattering photo of the manager because what is asking for permissions, smh. it's taken from the entrance to the lobby

HOTEL GENERAL

[ there's an unimportant rule about damaging hotel property blah blah, but it doesn't count when there's already blood on the walls from someone or something else, right?

lucas spends a good portion of the day, going around and using that same bloody(?), still-wet(?) paint to draw sealing sigils all over the hotel. it's been a hot minute (a couple centuries) since he's had to draw them by hand, and there's something nostalgic about the process. it does, however, take time. the array itself is complicated - and for all he knows, completely useless at the moment without any mana backing it up.

but he still has his knowledge of magical theories, his understanding of the inherent power nature has, and... he has arthur's mana crystal. while it wasn't strong enough to bypass whatever hold this place had on arthur's magical power, there was still some - there had to have been enough there to keep him alive. the same way some of lucas' powers must linger if he's in this young form. that's what he hopes at least.

only time will tell if this does anything good for them. ]

READING ROOM

[ this room again.

he's not sure why he's back here, in the same chair he slept in that night, staring at the same spot.

(the person he was watching is gone now. good. she shouldn't be here anyway. she can't. )

he'd read something long ago about spirits haunting the places of their passing - and at the time, he'd thought how stupid. why linger after death? now he wonders. maybe there's something wrong with him. maybe his heart has begun to thaw because his magic is missing. that must be the answer, the only explanation for these wretched feelings that won't disappear. ]

WILDCARD:

[ anything goes! on sunday, he does stop by the new rooms for the sake of... whatever excuse he has at the time. ]

Yeah, I'm sure corpses are always a good time.

What happened to the girl that belonged to? She still in there sometimes?

[ Today, Justy will find a glass of milk that is slightly spoiled (and at room temperature) outside of his door. ]

[ Snack bag in one hand, Tylor finds himself distracted by the trail of strange symbols until he finds Lucas in the act.

Crunch, crunch, he keeps eating without looking away from the freshest bloody(?) paint. ]

Ah, you're seen the others? Good, they're still there then. [ he half-thought the manager would have had her staff clean them up already. ] They're basically one long magical formula.

If I do them all right - [ and he will ] - and if circumstances align - [ uh, that's a big maybe ] - then they'll help us out later.

Say "ah".

[ Tylor smiles and throws a chip, aiming for the artist's mouth without any additional warning. Good luck. But if that misses, he'll hold one for him to bite at if he wants anyway.

Either way, he's genuinely curious about all things magic still. ]

How do they work?

[ he bites - because he's always hungry for mana. since he can't have mana, food is the next best thing. ]

Well... this here - [ he points. ] - is what I'm asking it to seal against. It's the symbol for malevolence. It's kind of vague, but in this case, whatever or whoever wants to do us harm will fall into that category. So... hm... it's like a mouse trap.

[ Lucas will find an elaborate magic circle drawn on his door. It looks like it was drawn using a marker from the gift shop.

Yuki will find a a mug in front of his door.

And anyone in the kitchen will find...little droplets of blood next to a knife and a cutting board, but nothing on the cutting board. There will also be a cup of rose milk tea chilling on one of the counter tops, though the cup seems to be rattling for no real reason??? Careful handling that! ]
